The last few years have witnessed a surge of new Black Metal acts within the Portuguese Underground propelling an arcane feeling reminiscent of the dark past.
Within this surge, Graves is one of the recent entities which have conveyed most awe and wonder after an auspicious demo released this year aptly entitled “Unholy Desecration”.

Now, the time is nigh for a new ascension of merciless Black Metal blasphemy as a new demo is summoned from the infernal pits. “Ascensão do Impiedoso” is the title of the new tome, a 32-minute unleashing of desecrating hymns of tumultuous Black Metal carved in blood red.

Within the seven tracks hereby presented, we are subjected to an incantation of six-string profanity, unholy riffs of Black Metal depravation shaped from the days of old of this unhallowed Cult set to a hammering rhythm section of scorching fast pacing intertwined with slower atmospheric portions and mid-tempo wanderings.

Thus topping this fiery recipe, N.’s maniacal howls and wailings spawned in his mother tongue cast the perfect setting for this outbreak of evil, conjuring utter insanity and gloom over a powerful mixing which projects sheer intensity and vigor without ever sounding stale or characterless.
